Zion Orphanage's most popular program is Animal-Assisted Therapy.
We are now reconstructing our on-campus Mini-Zoo to upgrade our Animal-Assisted Therapy program to the highest standards of professionalism and effectiveness.
A healthy child overflows with enthusiasm, excitement and curiosity. Tragically, when early childhood lacks warmth and care, a boy often turns inward – withdrawn, distrustful, uncommunicative... shut off from the world around.
At Zion Orphanage, our priority is to help boys emerge from their shell. At our on-campus Mini-Zoo, professional therapists guide the boys to switch from "survival mode" to sharing their inner world. As the boys care for rabbits, turtles and birds, they develop empathy toward other creatures, enabling love to emerge.
In this no-stress atmosphere of unconditional acceptance, boys ease their feelings of anxiety and isolation. With time, confidence and trust – those walls melt away, revealing new horizons.
